Lost Words

I left my notebook on the airplane when I changed planes in Denver on Friday. I was in the middle of writing a short story. You know what this means, right?

It won't be long until my brain will make it so those will have been the best droplets of awesome I have ever put to paper, though I remember not a syllable.

Well, that's a lie. I remember the entire first sentence. "On a perfect spring morning with flat seas and clear blue skies, Captain Eli P. Cooke made a terrible mistake."
